BULK MARKET ACTIVITY CONTINUES INTO SUMMER

As we move further into 2026, we’ve continued to see steady momentum across the bulk wine market, particularly within spot transactions. Year-over-year, both total gallons moved and overall deal volume have increased, reflecting stronger buyer engagement and a more active marketplace compared to this time last year.

While pricing remains competitive across many categories, buyers continue to source wines that offer both quality and value. Overall market conditions feel notably healthier than much of what we experienced throughout 2025, with many wineries continuing to evaluate inventory needs and long-term sourcing strategies.

Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon continues to see elevated demand, currently reflecting a weighted average of $9.04/gallon, while Napa Cabernet Sauvignon remains steady at a weighted average of $14.83/gallon. Central Coast Chardonnay has also remained a consistent frontrunner in the market, averaging $10.21/gallon. Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir has become increasingly difficult to source compared to previous years, with current pricing reflecting a weighted average of $13.65/gallon.

Heading into summer, we anticipate continued movement as wineries finalize inventory strategies and buyers continue planning for upcoming production cycles.

WELCOMING CASS MAZE BACK TO BOZZANO & CO.

We’re excited to officially welcome Cass Maze back to the Bozzano & Co. team as our Sales Support Administrator. Cass joins us from the DTC side of the industry, while also bringing prior wholesale market experience. Having already worked alongside our team, she brings an understanding of both our clients and the pace of the bulk wine market. Cass will be working closely with Jeanine to support bulk sales activity and help ensure our clients continue to receive the high level of attention and service that remains central to everything we do.

CERTIFICATIONS CONTINUE TO CREATE NEW OPPORTUNITIES

Buyer interest in certified wines continues to grow, and we’ve seen a noticeable increase in requests tied specifically to Organic, SIP Certified, CCSW, and Sustainable wines.

As more buyers build certification requirements into their sourcing programs, having these certifications already established internally can create additional selling opportunities and help streamline the matching process when demand arises. In many cases, buyers are reaching out with very specific certification needs from the outset, making preparedness increasingly important in today’s market.

While this trend has become more pronounced over the past year, we expect certification-driven demand to continue expanding as wineries and brands place greater emphasis on sustainability initiatives and consumer transparency.

If you have questions about certification positioning within the current bulk market, our team is always happy to discuss current buyer activity and opportunities.
