Spring 2025 at Bozzano & Co.

It was a busy Q1 for the Bozzano & Co. team. In February, Jeanine made her way up to Napa and Sonoma to visit clients and continues to be active in the North County, picking up samples weekly and staying close to what’s moving. Rachel visited clients in both Lodi and Temecula, while Anthony spent time up in Napa connecting with clients and also logged plenty of miles locally, touring vineyards along the Central Coast to stay in step with our grape clients.

In March, we had the pleasure of presenting and exhibiting at WiVi Central Coast. It’s always a highlight to be surrounded by the industry’s best and brightest — and even better to see so many of our clients in person. We left feeling energized and optimistic about the months ahead.

Now, with bud break underway across nearly all areas of Districts 7 and 8, the 2025 season is officially in motion. In comparison to this time last year, Bozzano & Co. has seen a notable uptick in market activity — with twice the number of transactions and more than double the volume of bulk wine sold. It's encouraging to see that, even in a market with its fair share of challenges, deals are getting done and good wine is finding the right homes.

Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon continues to lead the charge. There are plenty of current open needs for Paso Cab, and 100k+ gallons have sold in the last couple of weeks at a weighted average of $9.12/gallon.

Santa Barbara Pinot Noir from 2024 is already moving — and quickly. A light harvest left bulk supply sparse, and larger buyers have already locked in the lion’s share of what was available. Over 60,000 gallons have moved in the last three weeks with a focus on Santa Barbara and Central Coast AVAs.

Central Coast Chardonnay also has been of interest, with movement in smaller volumes with a weighted average of just under $11/gallon. Santa Maria Valley and Santa Barbara counties are seeing higher pricing, with Paso Robles and Monterey AVA neck and neck for second place.

As always, we’re here to help you navigate the market. Whether you’re sourcing, planning ahead, or just want to talk shop, don’t hesitate to reach out.
